New Oracle Series battery-backed PSUs with built in communications facility
This is a range of switch-mode power supplies that feature an on-board microcontroller and a choice of communications interfaces, providing users with the ability to program the unit and carry remote interrogation of a variety of parameters.
Primarily aimed at battery-backed mission-critical applications, the Oracle PSUs provides a main output for powering the load, together with a second output for charging an external standby battery. In the event of a mains failure, the battery supplies power to the load via an internal feed-forward diode.
The PSU's on board microcontroller provides a comprehensive range of fault alarms and status signals, along with providing control and monitoring of battery charging parameters.
The Oracle units are designed to meet the requirements of EN60950, UL1950 and EN54 safety standards and the EN50081-1 and EN50082-1 standards for electromagnetic compatibility.
Available in 45W, 75W, 100W, 170W, 200W, 300W, 400W, 560W and higher output versions in Eurocard, chassis mounting or DIN-rail mounting mechanical formats, the Oracle power supplies are ideal for use in applications such as networking, telecommunications, security, process control and telemetry.
Communication options
In addition to the traditional volt free relays, the latest Oracle products incorporate serial communications. RS 232/485 (Modbus protocol) is our most popular format, but other options are available such as I2C. The microcontroller architecture employed with the Oracle products allows a wide range of protocols to be supported. Future developments include Canbus and wireless protocols such as IRDA. Serial communications are available on all Oracle products in the 200W + power range.
RS232/485 enabled units are supplied with our free spreadsheet based diagnostic software. This can be used to develop your own software, or as a diagnostic/commissioning aid.
